Devlin's Our Father by Jimi Crayon
Jimmy Brown - 3rd May 2011
Jimi Crayon delivers his multi-media extravaganza for Dagenham grime act Devlin, translating the lyric via nine TV sets - with computers, old video recorders and speakers making up an impressive cube sculpture - in the absence of the artist.
"I really wanted to build something sculptural and unusual," says Jimi. "We used hundreds of different parts to build our creation - including speakers, suitcases, cables, VHS and cassette tapes. There were nine laptops hidden behind the sculpture each feeding a different edit of the video to a specific TV.
