‘Springsteen and I’ by Baillie Walsh
Promonews - 28th May 2013
Baillie Walsh has directed a new Bruce Springsteen documentary which is more than a journey through The Boss’s glorious career. Springsteen & I is also a crowd-sourcing project that centres on the impact of his music – and his amazing performances – on his fans worldwide.
Produced by RSA companies Black Dog Films and Scott Free, and executive produced by Ridley Scott, Springsteen & I was inspired by Scott Free London’s critically acclaimed feature film Life in a Day. The result is a visual tapestry of classic Bruce songs, unseen archive performance footage over 40 years of the Springsteen career, and contributions from his fans.
“This beautifully crafted film provides a unique insight into the powerful bond between a recording artist and those who connect so profoundly with his music,” says Ridley Scott.
On July 22nd 2013, Springsteen and I will be broadcast to cinema screens worldwide in an ambitious, simultaneous global big screen event. Here’s the trailer for Baillie Walsh’s first longform feature since his Daniel Craig movie Flashbacks Of A Fool – it’s enough to get the fist pumping and bring a lump to the throat.
