Modig 'Fortvilelse' by Jamie Muir
David Knight - 3rd Sept 2013
The subject of Jamie Muir's video is a dying man, played by Daniel Vivian, reflecting on a loved one as his body fails him - a poignant portrait to accompany the experimental sounds of Modig's Fortvilelse.
Jamie Muir: "It was a totally open brief but we always wanted the cinematography to be striking and real. The landscape to be urban, dystopian and mirroring the character's feelings.
"Following the journey of a man in torment, we watch him slowly destroy himself emotionally as his body decays physically.
"Drawing inspiration from the film Biutiful, it was the intention that his children were at the forefront of his mind whilst he witnessed his own demise.Â
"The illogical, chaotic thoughts that might go through your head during your last few hours of life. Much like a nightmare, the video isn't meant to be comfortable."
