With his first music video Rollo Hollins has directed a gripping account of a young speedway rider played by Sam Jones who is torn between his unscrupulous manager, who persuades him to ride while injured, and his girlfriend, who's appalled and terrified by his decision.

And this human drama is made thrilling by being played out in the visceral environment of a speedway meet, held at the Rye House speedway track, just north of London. And it was filmed in very difficult conditions - the shoot took place in the teeth of the great St Jude storm...

Rollo:

"What really stood out to me from listening to the track was the idea of inevitability – finding oneself in an unexpected situation due to a series of simple, inevitable decisions. 

"The narrative of the video attempts to explore this idea, using three intertwined characters who have a huge impact on each others lives, due to making seemingly inevitable personal choices. These relationships ultimately lead to a dangerous situation and heartbreak, which our characters must then choose to either accept or not.

"The speedway element came after deciding on this initial premise and through the need to find an unknown and dangerous world that we could set the story in. But it wasn't until the recce that we realised just how visceral and unique that world is. 

"Somewhat karmically, all the inevitable production choices ended up with us shooting over the hurricane weekend. Which made for for an incredibly intense shoot but we got really lucky with the cast, band included, who gave everything to deliver us some amazing performances. 

"The one lesson learned is that working with children and animals is a walk in the park compared with attempting to corral four throttle-happy speedway riders in a gale."
