Palace 'Bitter' by Liam Saint-Pierre
David Knight - 4th Nov 2014
Liam Saint-Pierre, who directed an emotional urban tale for Clean Bandit singer Eliza Shaddad a few months ago, has now helmed an alluring, ghostly tale with a similar sense of yearning, loss and foreboding for the impressive Bitter by Palace.
This time the sense of mystery and atmosphere is enhanced by the woodland setting in the north of England - captured with a tangible lushness by DoP Nic Booth - where a man is dashed from a moment of intimacy with a girl by waking up.
From then on there is no boundary between what's real and what's imagined...
