Blonde 'Feel Good' by Francis Wallis
Cat Velez - 19th Aug 2015
Francis Wallis has directed the story of the absorbing affair of an attractive young couple in Rio de Janiero, taking in the city's gorgeous locations, but also involving a dramatic climax – for Blonde's Feel Good. Working with an entirely local crew, he has done an excellent job in creating an engrossing watch that also ticks all the right pop video boxes.
When a girl meets her man when he's released from prison, they catch up lost time as they visit a number of old friends in the favelas and across town. They make a lovely couple, but when the young man characteristically does a good thing, he becomes the victim of injustice - and then we can question why he was in prison in the first place.
FRANCIS WALLIS:
“I’ve wanted to use Rio as a backdrop for a while now and felt this video was the right track and artist to achieve this. In order to make this video happen I had to go out to Brazil alone, and I'd be lying if I said I never felt vulnerable. The Brazilian side of production were really great and in the end I think it’s a video we’re all proud of!”
