Thomas Ralph creates an riveting, energetic, raw video for Leeds electronic outfit Vessels. With a reportage shooting style and an absorbing repetitive edit executed by Owen O'Sullivan, this focusses upon a boy and a girl - possibly lost souls - journeying across the streets of North London.

Shot on 16mm, Amira and iPhone, the video creates a complex visual collage that builds and repeats with the track, draws you in, and start to see the pair as symbiotically connected - even they never appear together until the very end.

“The idea initially steamed from the pattern like structure of the song and the 90’s all-night rave culture Vessels are homaging. Our mission was to merge raw, out on the town ‘run and gun’ narrative shooting with a graphic, layered, edit-structure to match with the beat. 

"Working closely with Owen, Editor at Marshall St, we worked backwards, breaking the rules and the pattern where we could to create a video that’s literally driven by the music.”
