Gareth Phillips and The Japanese House head to Tenerife for this gorgeous, golden video.

Using the incredible island landscapes from ground level combined with glorious, sweeping drone shots, Phillips highlights a distance between the onscreen duo. A great combination of incredible locations and great natural lighting really help to highlight the bittersweet feelings of the track.

GARETH PHILLIPS:

"The song sounded to me as though it was about the inevitable end of a relationship. I imagined a couple having travelled to a strange place, literally and metaphorically, along a long road to the end. There is a sadness to the mood of the couple but optimism in the beauty and colour of the images. If you can’t stand to be with a loved one on holiday then you know its time to go separate ways. 

"We wanted to communicate a distance between Amber and Nathan through the photography and use the rocky barren landscape as a metaphor for the relationship. The truck became something that was taking them somewhere but also illustrated their separation. I was reminded of a photo taken from high above of a female figure laying in the back of a truck by Jhon Crawford. Seeing them laid alone in the desert was a kind of opposite to being laid together as a couple.

"We wanted to shoot in Morocco as Amber had shot some of her album art work there but it could not happen due to budget. We decided on a rocky island which offered a range of epic landscapes. Being in the national park of Teide as the sun was coming up and the wind was howling will be something i will never forget."
