Gener8ion 'No Rebel' by François Rousselet
Luke Bather - 9th Feb 2017
Aesthetic is the name of the game in this Dior/Gener8ion collaboration directed by François Rousselet.
In a car park full of inexplicably gorgeous cars, two gangs of inexplicably gorgeous people meet for an inexplicably gorgeous dance battle. This is the magic of a fashion film - a hyperreal world that we really wish existed, because wouldn't it be nice if somewhere, right now, this exact scene was happening in real life?
Meticulously planned choreography by Holly Blakey, dynamic lighting setups and a colour palette that evokes the Neon Noir look pioneered by films like Drive, this music-video-branded-content hybrid launching a latest type of Poison (Dior's perfume brand) even manages to throw some comedy elements in amongst the sheer beauty.
