Amber Mark 'Love Me Right' by Sophia Ray
Promonews - 22nd Mar 2018
Sophia Ray’s presents a visual treat influenced by Renaissance and pre-Raphaelite painting for Amber Mark's Love Me Right, contrasted with more realistic, semi-dramatised scenes of her experiencing problems with her lover.Â
Ray describes the track as "an ode to a love that once was, which has now fallen into complacency" and she says that her idealised vision of Amber - including her floating in pink liquid surrounded by flowers, like a modern version of Ophelia from the Millais painting - represents her imagination, and how she wants her man to see her.
"I wanted to switch between hyperreal stylised scenes in which Amber is the star, with more realistic domestic scenes showing small snippets of their love/loathe story," she says. "The hyperreal scenes are inspired by classic Renaissance art and religious iconography, imagining Amber as an empowered goddess and romantic heroine."
