Saint Petersburg 'It's OK For You To Not Be OK' by Peter Trifunovic
Promo News - 17th Dec 2018
Peter Trifunovic's second video for Sheffield band Saint Petersburg is a well shot performance piece, making use of a derelict cinema in the city to isolate the band from each other for large parts of the video.
PETER TRIFONUVIC:
"Earlier this year I read Lost Connections by Johann Hari, which puts forward the idea that depression is caused by disconnection. Disconnection from other people, disconnection from nature, disconnection from meaningful work, etc.
"I took the idea of disconnection and used it as the theme for this music video. I wanted to disassemble the band, and use architecture and framing to isolate them further. I was inspired by geometric compositions, particularly those found in Alex Colville paintings, and in the films of Pawel Pawlikowski. Our location was the beautifully crumbling Abbeydale Picturehouse in Sheffield.
"Saint Petersburg are donating the proceeds from the CD sales of this single to Mind, The Mental Health Charity."
