Marble Empire 'Head Above The Water' by William Pope
Promonews - 23rd Jan 2019
William Pope, who has worked on numerous UK-produced music videos in the past couple of years as a gaffer, has directed an impressive debut music video for Marble Empire.
A girl biker, involved in an accident with a car, then encounters different versions of herself in a nightmarish version of suburbia - all apparently achieved in a single Steadicam shot, in real time.
Pope says the video, shot in Bournemouth with a small crew, was heavily inspired by two Bonobo videos: the Bison-directed video for Kerala, and No Reason by Oscar Hudson. The latter offering the clue on how did he created multiple versions of the same girl with no visible cuts.
