Raja Virdi is back with another live piece for Freya Ridings in his signature one-take style - this time at The Barbican Conservatory. 

Freya’s performance of You Mean The World To Me was shot all on a telescopic crane in one continuous move, with beautiful cinematography by Brett Turnbull.

”This set of live videos were some the biggest jobs I've done thus far. It was a joy to work with Freya and the team again and to take her live videos a big step up from last time.

“I'd been wanting to direct a live piece at the Barbican Conservatory for a while now and it just so happened to tie in perfectly with the visual direction of Freya's campaign. It was also pretty cool getting to see a segment of this piece in cinemas during ad reels, as part of the labels marketing campaign."

"The initial image that I had in my head was of a wide top shot over Freya playing a lidless grand piano with lights surrounding her. It was wicked seeing that image come to life. The only way to have achieved the camera work I envisaged in a one shot was to shoot on a telescopic crane.

“I have to give massive thanks to my Producer and good friend Byron McNally, DoP Brett Turnbull, Grip team headed up by Jem Morton and the Lighting team headed up by Gavin Walters for consistently executing my ideas. We had to bring in a load of production design in too, with Art Dep headed up by the wonderful Bon Walsh. This was a really enjoyable set to be on and I'm very proud of the outcome."
