KC Locke goes back to basics, with the high-energy stylings of his new promo for Digga D and AJ Tracey. 

Taking charge of operating as well as directing, Locke's fluid camerawork effortlessly connects several distinctive vignettes, aided by whip-pan transitions cut together by frequent collaborator Jamil Shaukat.

Performance is the focus here, bouncing back and forth between two faux live setups, before heading to the recording studio and letting the energy run wild. 

It has the classic signs of a KC Locke visual, with a more stripped-back, intimate feel than some of his bigger projects.

It's not everyday that I grab the camera on set, but had to on this one. 

"Had to bring it back to the trenches on this video, fusing the old with the new. I stripped it right back to just pure gully energy mode.

"Arran Green [DoP] did a brilliant job in this video and got all the whip transitions perfect and put so much energy into capturing each scene. The footage was put through the edit machine in a mad 24 hour turnaround while sat in with Jamil Shaukat as he worked his scientific magic!
