Clark 'Small' by Broken Antenna
David Knight - 10th June 2021
A lone choirboy in his choral gown collects fragments of electronic equipment along mudflats in Broken Antenna's poignant video for Clark's Small.
The track is taken from the electronic musician and soundtrack composer's latest album Playground In A Lake, released on classical label Deutsche Grammaphon, and features young Nathaniel Timoney on vocals - who plays the beachcoming choirboy in the video.
BROKEN ANTENNA:
We built a character of a lone wandering cyberpunk-esque choirboy...
"Following on from the album's theme of climate change and what Clark described as a 'drowned world', we set this video in a dystopian post-apocalyptic landscape that reflected this concept. Dead fish float in the water, birds fall from the sky and power lines burn in the background.
"The performer in the video is Nathaniel, who sings on the track. We built a character around him of a lone wandering cyberpunk-esque choirboy who digs and scavenges the barren landscape for used scrap pieces of technology as a means to get by in this desolate world."
