Fred Gervais directs a thrilling promo for PL & Wheelie's debut single, Barbe à Papa.

The brainchild of actor/rapper Pierre-Luc Lafontaine and producer Wheelie, the duo intermix 90's hip-hop with elements of comedy, surrealism and industrial alternative rock. 

The frantic mix of genres is reflected in the hypnotic video, which flashes through a series of conceptual vignettes, sometimes relating to the lyrics and sometimes just representing a cool visual idea. 

The aesthetic pays homage to nostalgic Noughties videos - whilst simultaneously taking cues from the excess of contemporary Korean pop promos - and is totally and utterly absorbing from first frame to last.
