William Kennedy has collaborated with photographer/director Edmund Fraser on a collection of visualizers for rock duo Bones UK’s debut album SOFT, using 3D body imaging and a multi-camera rig as a recurring motif, resulting in a striking tableau of work.

Kennedy worked with vocalist/guitarist Rosie Bones on the concept, utilizing the Camden Town band's predeliction for bold styling to create dynamic action scenes that appear to be plucked from medieval and mythological tales. The range of creativity is spread across four full-length visualizers for Bikinis, Knee Deep, Fix and Me, plus social cutdowns.

“Working on Bones UK campaign with co-director Edmund was a blast from start to finish," says Kennedy. "We wanted these visualisers to feel like dynamic neoclassical paintings, with a wry sense of humour.

"The band, Rosie and Carmen, are all for playing and distorting rock and roll conventions and expectations, so we couldn’t wait to play around in the environment. And Beau Tiger Rae, our stylist, also went to town on this project and gathered the phenomenal looks - they really smashed it out of the park.

"We ran a hybrid stills and video shoot, with a 60 camera rig positioned in an 180 degree arc around Rosie and Carmen in the studio. The cameras fired simultaneously, capturing reference images from which we built the photorealistic 3D models in post production.

"On the day, Edmund and I split responsibilities on set, using our personal expertise to divide and conquer. It was a seamless, super-fun shoot and the whole team was brilliant.

"After shooting, we worked on the cinematic camera moves in Unreal Engine with our post artist Christie Lau. It was so much fun seeing the visuals rendered for the first team, and manually directing the camera to create movement after the shoot, it was really exciting to experiment with.”
