Zara pulls up barefoot in a retro VW to an open field full of women doing stretching exercises. When she flips a switch on a giant wall of Marshall speakers, the bass blows her off her feet -and she rises in formation with the other girls. The ensuing dance routine, choreographed by Zoi Tatopoulos (a collaborator with FKA Twigs), is brazen and electrifyiung. But then, as the rain pours, it breaks down into something even more intense: pure feral mayhem.
Filmed in Mexico City, on a ranch in Ajusco, Charlotte Rutherford tells Promonews: "Zara's song made me feel really ALIVE and inspired to be chaotic. I wanted to make something that feels aggressively positive, girly and uninhibited."
That is exactly what Charlotte and her team have delivered - and it looks like they had an absolute blast making it.
