Directing duo Helena Ganjalyan and Bartosz Szpak have created a mesmerising dance film to accompany composer/producer Stefan Wesolowski's brooding and ominous composition Core.

Filmed on the streets of Warsaw, the film follows four characters negotiating their surroundings in a somnambulant state. Their narcolepsy is the basis for their unpredictability, shifting between stillness and sudden swaying movement, wearing expressions of confusion and fatigue.

This is beautifully captured by the directors, focussing on the range of characters, from young student to well-to-do woman, silver-clad street performer and middle aged businessman. And its transported to another level by the radiant monochrome cinematography by Tymoteusz Pieszka.

"In our concept we start our exploration from the Japanese concept of inemuri - a short nap taken in a public place," state Helena Ganjalyan and Bartosz Szpak. "We are interested in a consideration of human presence in a world that emanates constant development, momentum and movement - symbolised by a large, multi-layered city."

Experienced directors in Poland, they have worked with brands such as Google, Samsung, PUMA, Coca-Cola, Audi, Hertz, mBank, Audioteka, Disney, Virgin Mobile, Pernod Ricard. Ganjalyan’s background is also choreography, theatre direction and photography, and Szpak’s in music composition and directing audio productions. Their debut feature film Glorious Summer had its world premiere at South By Southwest 2025, and they are currently they are developing their second film, Two Peas.
