Good Health Good Wealth's Bruce Breakey relives a past relationship in Alexandre Do's powerful video for the London alternative/indie duo.
In the video for This Time Next Year We'll Be Millionaires, Breakey's character is with his mates doing macho things - videogames and copious drinking - before a flashback to a sunny day in the café with his girlfriend, played by Holly Hawgood, where the mutual attraction and easy chemistry is clear.
The video continues to shift between timelines and the introduction of when things go wrong with his girlfriend is sudden. In the present, post-relationship strand, his facade of laddishness starts to drop.
We are in familiar territory with many videos - and longer narratives - about the arc of a love affair from blissful happiness to despair. But due to Breakey and Hawgood's performances - the scene in the café will make you believe in this relationship - and the way Alex Do arranges the story, this version hits a lot harder than most.
