Sam Debaecke directs a medieval epic on a shoestring for Belgian post-metal band Amenra.
The video for the brooding Salve Mater follows a group of five knights, assailed by physical and metaphorical forces as they attempt to scale a tower. And only one is going to make it to the summit.
Heavy on atmosphere and symbolism, the ambitious video benefits from excellent cinematography from Thomas Vercauteren and production design by Astrid Van Steenkiste. An impressive achievement.
