Tom Oliver continues his richly creative series of films for singer-songwriter Mr Bruce with a powerful, emotionally captivating promo exploring the rituals around death. In the song Go Slow, Mr (Ian) Bruce's delicate vocal reimagines the funeral of Tim Cole, aka Chucks - his bandmate in The Correspondents, who died suddenly in 2020 - as a pyre carried to the shoreline and pushed out to sea, set against a shimmering dubstep backdrop.Tom Oliver's film brings this imagined ritual to life. Ian Bruce carries a portrait of two puffins, framed by funeral flowers, from his London home through city streets, trains and open countryside towards a windswept beach. Along the way, the story of the birds unfolds through hand-painted frame-by-frame animation created by Ian Bruce himself. As he reaches the coast at dusk, the paintings and flowers become a ceremonial pyre, set alight in a final act of mourning, remembrance and release.It's a stunning piece of work that perfectly encapsulates the themes of the track. The film is also the fifth chapter of the visual album directed by Oliver that accompanies Mr Bruce's new album OK. It blends live action, performance and animation through the five films, a brilliant achievement that has been recognised with its selection for this year's Aesthetica Film Festival in November.

Théo Asciak directs an evocative promo for SCH, situating the French rapper in an enigmatic atmosphere, ratcheting up through a series of performance vignettes that are shifting between black-and-white infrared and colour.Boasting a darkly elegant vibe, the video for Les Hommes Aux Yeux Noirs employs the codes of fashion and cinema to captivate the audience. "I was very inspired by the track, the traces left by the universe in which we grew up," explains Asciak. "The film explores the perception of success for those who have nothing. Wether it’s through the artist's image or the get away possibility through money and gambling. Throughout the story, these elements mean hope for our protagonists."

Marius Gonzalez directs a moving promo for French hip hop artist Josman. The video for Intro is a collection several 'moving-image paintings', that aim to illustrate the emotions described throughout his piece. It's a vivid collaboration between Josman and Gonzalez - who also directed the rapper's video for Un Zder, Un Thé in 2018. Unattached to the lyrics in the traditional sense, the video instead gives free rein to the interpretation and imagination of the viewer.Approached in a minimalistic way, the video echoes the loneliness, isolation and resilience in the track, and visualises these in an abstract way.
