The Harry Richards-directed video for Sebb Masters' Something’s In The Water features unseen clips from Contact Hours, a moving 25-minute short film about student suicide - also directed by Richards.&nbsp;The short was written by Rufus Love, and stars Kris Hitchen (Ken Loach’s Sorry We Missed You) and George Osborne (The Pendragon Cycle).The music video intercuts the Contact Hours story of an estranged father and son with shots of the Sebb Masters frontman&nbsp;Alex Strong. He is alone on an armchair, surrounded by darkness. As he begins to express his feelings of loneliness through song, energy begins to flow through his performance.[imgtoken data:1]"In both the music video and short film, DoP Scarlett Gardner and I worked hard to create a consistent visual language that emphasises each character’s humanity," says Richards. Deadhorses direct a dazzling promo for Finnish-born, multi-lingual&nbsp;singer Joalin, with a hyperactive aesthetic&nbsp;achieved through quickfire edits, innovative camera techniques and textural overlays.Shooting in famous London locations like The Barbican and Southbank, the video for Without You is a colourful and kinetic visual feast that showcases Joalin's dynamic style in a fresh and fun way.&nbsp;"For this ultra-catchy, rap-reggaeton hybrid we wanted to make an iconic video that matches the song's energy and showcases Joalin’s trilingualism and immense talents as a street dancer," say Deadhorses."Cinematically, our visual approach was taken from 70s US Indie and 90s Hong Kong cinema, especially their use of long zoom lenses and wide angle lenses. We love the hard impact and visual flair that you get when juxtaposing extreme wides and ultra close-ups."The arcade and fish tank scenes in particular were so much fun to film, the camera had to be literally inches from Joalin’s face, we also managed to get a bit of lip-sync performances from one of the fish featured in the tanks which was a highlight for sure![imgtoken data:1]"We were so grateful to be working with the daring DoP Jed Darlington-Roberts again (always a dream) who smashed it out of the park mixing up a bizarre array of old school and cutting edge techniques such as smearing vaseline on the lens and attaching 360 camera to the inside of the arcade games so that we spin in real time."Another big visual novelty was getting Hank Zoid on board who has a truly unique 16-camera rig that captures 3D bullet-time video maps and interspersed the 16-images into a single slow-mo image you can navigate through. This was the first time this technology was used for a music video and we think it really makes the arcade scenes standout, bringing a breath of fresh air to proceedings.."We had never worked with Joalin before, but it was a dream! We found her infectiously upbeat and energetic from the first call we had with her. It was great how involved in the filmmaking process, styling and design she was, clearly driven to make a standout video, even if it involves being in a bathtub on Southbank at dusk with a hundred tourists taking pictures of you."Getting permits in three days with a limited budget for such prized locations was by no means an easy feat, so, a massive shout out is due to our amazing production team especially our brilliant producer Ash and Liam from Blend films who put in the graft, working night and day at the point the project was greenlit to pull rabbits out of hats and materialise our crackpot ideas."

Harry Richards&nbsp;directs an understated promo&nbsp;for Family Stereo.&nbsp;The video for I Knew I Loved You Then! features an intimate gig which unfolds in&nbsp;the imagined living room of Blake Watt, Family Stereo's singer-songwriter. Watt plays the roadie, setting up the equipment for his friends to play.&nbsp;Initially alienated and withdrawn, his character ultimately finds connection in this moving film.Shot from a single perspective, it's a meditative, relaxed visual which reflects the dreamy soundscapes in the track.&nbsp;“When Blake first sent me I Knew I Loved You Then!, I was immediately drawn to the song’s mesmerising vocals, beautiful instrumentation and rich sonic texture," says Richards.[imgtoken data:1]"It felt important to let the song breathe, so we kept the video concept simple. Using the same camera setup throughout the video pushed us to really focus on how each frame would advance the story.“Instead of cutting to close ups, we chose to remain in a wide angle and used careful blocking to depict Blake’s character’s disconnection from the space and people around him. As the room swells and empties with partygoers, the emotion of the song builds to a climax, then slips away again.”Family Stereo's Blake Watt adds: “Working alongside Harry on the video was simply a joy. He knew exactly the right direction to give to actors and crew alike. The final product is a perfect visual representation of what I hope to achieve through my music.”

Kris R puts a different twist on a&nbsp;certain genre of British gangster movie for YOURS - the new soul/dance collective of Maverick Sabre, Jake Hall, Sonny Hall and producer New Machine.Set in Mallorca - where the Hall brothers grew up - the video for&nbsp;Our Love (80's) begins at the poolside of a Briitsh gang boss's luxury home. When he is discovered&nbsp;face-down in the pool by the pool boy, who makes off with a bag of cash, it triggers an action-packed chase sequence (with YOURS&nbsp;as the chasing gang members)&nbsp;- and surprising plot twists.It's a high-energy&nbsp;visual that treads a line between homage and irreverence, and that works well with the upbeat disco-soul vibe of the track.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]"The brief was pretty broad:&nbsp;shoot in Mallorca, with British gangster films as references," explains Kris, "I was immediately drawn to the friendship between Gal and the pool boy in Sexy Beast and it just kind of grew from there."Jake and Sonny, from the group, grew up in Mallorca and were able to provide a ton of hookups. So, with a mighty crew of 5(!) we headed out to make a film."It was one of those shoots that depend on a collective determination to get it done, against time and financial restraints. Directing duo Deadhorses nail the&nbsp;buzzed-up energy and madness of a wild house party, with a viscerally lo-fi,&nbsp;pre-social media aesthetic, for Manchester-based house crew Mason Collective's collab with Bipolar Sunshine.Working together with Blend Films for the&nbsp;first time and filming on a collection of vintage mini-DV tape cameras - including malfunctioning ones - and then augmented with kinetic editing and FX, Deadhorses - James Topley and Ivo Beckett - have created an unhinged&nbsp;thrill ride through the unrelenting action of a brilliant night out.&nbsp;As we move breathlessly with the lead characters through scenes from street to house, taking in numerous&nbsp;loved-up participants, the nostalgic, early home-digi&nbsp;sensibility, and unstoppable momentum is a great&nbsp;accompaniment to People In Love, an&nbsp;old school dance tune with a big heart, boasting a chugging bass line, decadent synth-work and sly garage influences. Perfect for a banging&nbsp;house party video dripping in Y2K influences.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]<blockquote>We grew up watching and loving TV shows like&nbsp;Skins&nbsp;and wanted to hark back to that era...</blockquote>"We wanted to take people back in time to an old school house party session, before social media and Spotify, when MTV ruled and all you needed for a solid session was a four pack of cans, 10 B&amp;H, a brick Nokia and a well-fed Tamagotchi!" say Deadhorses."We grew up watching and loving TV shows like Skins and wanted to hark back to that era and for the film to feel rooted in the experience of the characters, based in an (undefined) recent past. We filmed the video across a number of mini-DV tape cameras - some half-broken, some with dodgy tapes - which provided the heavy analogue tone to the look and also gave us an enormous range of textures to play with.[imgtoken data:2]"Some of the cameras were so old we had abstract glitches, pixelation and our brilliant DoP Jed used these curveballs to his advantage and captured some really insane, off-the-wall shots, lit with a bright, sparky, gel-pen colour palette. We loved these in-camera effects and leaned into them when it came to the edit, enhancing them with a heavy VFX, quick cutting approach to bring a visceral rushing sense of momentum. Some of the tapes were recorded over previous footage and this contributed to the authenticity and feeling as if it was a home-movie."The film follows our hero characters throughout the night showing them all at the meet up and driving through residential roads to the house party, 6 people squashed into a four seater, etc. For the house party itself, as well as the dancing and general madness of the main room we wanted to focus on the side rooms and peripheral spaces where the shit really goes down and the memories are made. So we had one of the characters locked in the bathroom after hotboxing it and another passing out way too early and becoming tagged with a sharpie covered in crap by their mates.[imgtoken data:3]"It was also great to get Mason Collective guys in the video as well. They came down for the main party scene filling in as the DJs, playing tunes to all the revellers and bringing the energy and vibes in buckets, we to the room and the video as a whole. We really all did it for the love of the scene and it was great to have everyone on the set exchanging their nostalgic memories of raving."Overall, it was such a fun, energising experience and we think this experience we had filming it shines through the final product. Finally we’d like to thank everyone who worked on this, cast and crew, everyone at Blend, Sam and Polly at OB42, Cat at Defected. Everyone smashed it out the park and made it so much fun to make." &nbsp;
