Claes Nordwall directs a textural, vintage-inspired promo for Brooklyn-based Chris Stewart's music project Black Marble.&nbsp;Blending gritty New York cityscapes and snapshots of everyday life, the video for It Always Comes To Me pays homage to 20th century experimental cinema, seamlessly moving between performance, docu-style shots and atmospheric cutaways.&nbsp;"I was drawn to the idea of a character moving through the modern world on his own timeline," explains Nordwall. "While everything around him races forward, he remains quietly rooted in who he is."I was Inspired by Chris's ideas behind the album which made me think of the dry stoicism of Aki Kaurismäki's films. Our lives as humans play out on a massive, interwoven scale, in&nbsp;Yoonha Park's promo for Squid.&nbsp;The video for&nbsp;Swing (In a Dream) opens in an indoor sports court, where two men are playing basketball. A member of staff repaints the lines on the court whilst this happens, and a man walks across the court, seemingly disconnected from each other. This is where things really ramp up.&nbsp;An influx of people doing all kinds of activities - from the expected, e.g. walking around, to the unexpected, e.g. trying to swim - suddenly spills over into the court, and it's as if the controlled chaos of everyday life has been packed into this sports hall.&nbsp;It's truly mesmerising, frantic and slightly nervewracking, and the choreography of the whole thing must have been a huge challenge. It is, however, pulled off magically, with brilliant visual effects and an overwhelming sense of the uncanny, perfectly blending the real world and those in dreams.&nbsp;This is what it is to be a human - messy, fun and very much disorientating.&nbsp;

Claes Nordwall creates an atmospheric&nbsp;performance video for London band Palace, returning to action with the song Martyr.With the addition of painterly set-ups evoking the works of old Masters, Nordwall gives the video an appealing art school sensibility. And it was shot, appropriately enough, in the&nbsp;old Central Saint Martins campus basement in Holborn, London.

Claes Nordwall&nbsp;follows up his recent video for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2016/03/02/parquet-courts-berlin-got-blurry-claes-nordwall" target="_blank">Parquet Courts&#39; Berlin Got Blurry</a>&nbsp;with this retro-rural wigout from psychedelic rock trio Blaenavon.It was shot in the band&#39;s home village of Liphook, Hampshire &ndash; the lake scene was filmed in a secret Buddhist sanctuary &ndash; and framed to look like a romantic 18th century painting that was slightly alive, infused with Tarkovsky-like slow zooms.&nbsp;And it features a dog called&nbsp;Wilf, who apparently&nbsp;was a joy to work with.&nbsp;

Rudimental&#39;s usual combination of rhapsodic visuals paired with&nbsp;high-energy&nbsp;drum and bass are&nbsp;paired way down in this video for Rumour Mill by directing collective&nbsp;I Owe Youth. Shot in a classy, polished black and while (nicely photographed by Daniel Morgan)&nbsp;it features Anne Marie and Will Heard jamming in their convertible in a car park.I Owe Youth say that they wanted &quot;to give the viewer the impression we are witnessing a private moment between two friends,&rdquo; and its&nbsp;a cool, highly cinematic scenario, with styling and car subtly referencing&nbsp;the 90s pirate scene,&nbsp;in what turns out to be a joy-filled performance video.&nbsp;
