Slane directs a collaborative promo for English Teacher x Pinterest.&nbsp;Not Everybody Gets To Go To Space features a live session with visuals inspired by the 'Fisherman Aesthetic' - a future trend prediction from Pinterest, and a theme that is evident in everything from the costumes to the art direction.&nbsp;Shot at&nbsp;The Historic Dockyard in Chatham, the imposing location is almost otherworldly in scale and style, and helps tie together the aesthetic on a macro level too.&nbsp;An inspired collab, with a central theme creatively interpreted and executed.&nbsp;

As their long-awaited new album ROMANCE is released, comes another&nbsp;remarkable Fontaines D.C. video - and another tour de force by Luna Carmoon.The director who made her music video debut with&nbsp;the intense drama of <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2024/08/08/fontaines-dc-heres-thing-luna-carmoon/87678" target="_blank">Here's The Thing</a> (after her acclaimed feature debut Hoard) quickly returns to duties with the Fontaines with an extraordinary piece of work for In A Modern World: a surreal comedy-drama, featuring an incredible central performance&nbsp;from Ewan Mitchell (House of the Dragon, Saltburn) - as a character engaged in the netherworld of a very niche, indeed bizarre and&nbsp;dangerous sport.&nbsp;It's car-jitsu - jiu-jitsu, within the interior&nbsp;of a car. Invented <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1f7r0cfaXc" target="_blank">just a couple of years ago, in Chicago</a>, Mitchell's character is the protagonist through which Carmoon explores an absurd yet compelling experience. At first, its just the raw, explosive physicality involved of clashing bodies within a ridiculously small space - which is surprising and hugely intense&nbsp;in itself.Then the director adds another dimension to the&nbsp;brutal clash of bodies - what is happening outside the car, the voyeuristic relationship of passers-by who become the audience to Mitchell and a succession of combatants, a kind of sexual frisson that is created through the intensity of the action. The parallels with another in-car activity is undeniable.&nbsp;It's&nbsp;Fight Club&nbsp;crossed&nbsp;with dogging.&nbsp;Horrible, painful to watch yet hilarous, it's mesmerizing stuff, a fever dream. After a humiliating fall on stage, she finds herself entangled with a group of outsider girls who begin to infiltrate her life and dreams. The narrative unfolds with elements of supernatural intrigue, as these enigmatic girls lead our protagonist into a world of chaos and rebellion.With rich cinematography from Antoine Cormier, Carmoon creates an unsettling, gripping atmosphere. The haunting, smog-filled settings evoke the suspense of 80s Giallo films, while the characters’ distinctive, alt-inspired wardrobes draw from grunge and goth aesthetics. Directing duo Mathy &amp; Fran return to music videos with a very characteristic piece for Georgia's latest pop gem: sensitive, humane and pastel-hued. And it touches on a subject that many&nbsp;people have faced, literally and metaphorically.&nbsp;In the video for Give It Up For Love, a range of characters take turns to stand upon a high diving board, and are challenged to make an all-important leap.It's a relatable moment where personal courage is required, but given a metaphorical&nbsp;element by it's staging, on a bright yellow platform against a pastel-pink studio background. And when the characters start to leap, they are captured in mid-air, in a state of blissful freedom.It's a simple yet powerful concept to match the sentiment at the heart of the song - letting yourself go to allow love to come in.&nbsp;Georgia's empathetic performance helps tie the whole project together.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Arthur Studholme directs a hilarious promo for Welshy's All For You.&nbsp;We have all had&nbsp;the unfortunate experience of making accidental physical contact with a stranger in a public place, but for this video's protagonist - played by comedian Thomas Gray - he welcomes the first touch, with a girl as they both bend down to pick something up. It could even be described as fate...[imgtoken data:1]"The concept of this video centres around that strange moment in life when one makes minor unwanted physical contact with a stranger in public," confirms Studholme. "The video explores what goes on inside our protagonist's head the moment this very thing happens to him on the bus on his way home from work."&nbsp;In fact, our hero discovers that every person - or object -&nbsp;he touches afterwards gets a starring role in his fantasies - whether it's running down the beach Baywatch-style, or throwing clay like the loved-up couple in Ghost... and what starts off as a dream becomes a nightmare.&nbsp;The resulting nonsense is absurdly mesmerising.

In Arthur Studholme's imaginative&nbsp;video for Irish singer-songwriter Smoothboi Ezra, a man made of flowers invades the home of a couple as they sleep, and soon causes emotional havoc.​The song Stuck is about the point at the beginning of the end of a relationship, and Studholme uses the powerful vision of the Flower Man as the agent of another strong&nbsp;visual device, to represent that painful moment. One of the couple is woken to carry out the intruder's bidding - which is to paint herself out of their photos. Then the 'whited-out' technique is repeated with the couple's home movie footage, where the Flower Man figure also starts to appear.Studholme fuses these graphic elements together into a very satisfying whole. It's a quietly powerful video and in this case, the fact 'it was all a dream' is no cop-out.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;&nbsp;

After helming the first few videos from the new album Metronomy Forever, frontman Joseph Mount cedes directing duties to old collaborator Dan Brereton. Very good move.This reunion of the minds that brought us the first Metronomy videos over a decade ago, has now produced a lovely video for Wedding Bells - simple in concept, extremely artful and accomplished in its execution.It's a house party, where now five-piece band are gamely playing in the corner. But this get-together of hormonal teenagers is not what we might expect: its daytime, there's little sign of booze, there's lots of nice party food. Indeed, it really does resemble a much younger person's party.In the midst, one lad becomes smitten with a girl... who is with another guy. But within the logic of the piece - an afternoon nap, a dream sequence, and things getting&nbsp;out of hand in a kid's party way - things may work out...From the location to the casting, art direction and photography in 4:3 by Ruben Woodin Dechamps, this is as good a Metronomy video as we've seen in a while. And lovely to see the band back with Dan Brereton - they&nbsp;always come up with good ones.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;
