Good Health Good Wealth's Bruce Breakey relives a past relationship in Alexandre Do's powerful video for the London alternative/indie duo.In the&nbsp;video for This Time Next Year We'll Be Millionaires, Breakey's character is with his mates doing macho things - videogames and copious drinking - before a flashback to a sunny day in the café with his girlfriend, played by Holly Hawgood, where the mutual attraction and easy chemistry is clear.The video continues to shift between timelines and the introduction of when things go wrong with his girlfriend is sudden. In the present, post-relationship strand, his facade of&nbsp;laddishness starts to drop.&nbsp;We are in familiar territory with many videos - and longer narratives - about the arc of a love affair from blissful happiness to despair. And like his previous videos in the past year or so,&nbsp;the all-encompassing vision also serves to push&nbsp;the LAUZZA brand. Paris-based Australian director Sinclair directs a white-syc performance video for electronic artist Mechatok's team-up with pop diva&nbsp;Isabella Lovestory.&nbsp;Inspired by the vibrant aesthetics of 2010s J-Pop, the sleek and dynamic video for She's A Director splits in two spaces with Isabella messing with the band through the power or telekinesis, adopting bottles full of coloured liquid and a panda&nbsp;plushy&nbsp;as her voodoo objects.&nbsp;The video blends nostalgic references - harking as far back to the dawn of the music video age - with contemporary style, showcasing Sinclair’s talent for bold visual storytelling, and following on from notable work this year for Adéla, Dorian Electra and Charlotte Plank.

Acclaimed American composer and musician Jon Batiste plays a mid-century&nbsp;conman duping farmers into believing their chickens can lay golden eggs in a fast-moving comedy by French directing duo&nbsp;Zite &amp; Léo.The video for Big Money - a track from Batiste's new blues-influenced album, out in August - focusses on a great Amercian tradition of being fleeced of your hard-earned cash by smooth-talking, dream-selling hucksters. Not that would ever happen these days, of course. In this case, Batiste and his buddy are hawking 'golden grain' to a credulous set of rural rubes, scooping their banknotes and getting out quick before their golden egg scam is exposed.As with their previous narrative videos for the likes of L'Imperitrice and others,&nbsp;Zite &amp; Léo fashion this story with rich period detail, a cinematic sensibility and lots of energetic joie de vivre, epitomised by the relish of Jon Batiste's charismatic conman turn.&nbsp;Speaking about the film - that was shot on location in Bulgaria -&nbsp;MindsEye MD Hughie Phillips says: “It was such an unbelievable joy to work with the incomparable Jon Batiste on Big Money. I first heard about the new Clipse record while I was overseas. I saw a clip on Instagram of Pharrell previewing it at the Louis Vuitton show and something about it clicked. I texted their MGMT (who I was connected with through my first music video in 2021) to let me write a treatment for Clipse. A week later, they wanted to make my idea come to life."We shot on 35mm film in Long Island at the same estate used for the hunting trip episode of Succession. The space had weight to it. That sense of history matched the energy of the record. I approached it with a focus on restraint. Letting the imagery breathe. Long, composed shots that feel more like portraits than moving images. Letting the lyrics sit in the silence. Letting shadows, reflections, and subtle movement do the work."To direct for Clipse meant everything. They shaped so much of the visual language of rap. This was about honoring that legacy without overcomplicating it. Letting the performances speak. Letting the world feel expensive and haunted at the same time.""Push said it best after watching the final cut: “Now this is evil. Keep me here.”

Noel Paul directs a characteristically immersive and offbeat promo for American rock band Geese.The video for Taxes takes place at an intimate gig, with the first minute or so shot on a mobile phone or lo-fi video camera.&nbsp;But then it's all turned on its head, ramping up into a mesmerising fever dream of sped-up dancing, fighting, melting faces - even a spot of cannibalism.It's ferocious, kind of disturbing, all the more intense for being at odds with the laidback pace of the track.&nbsp;A standout visual indeed.NOEL PAUL:"When Cameron sings 'nail me down',&nbsp;everything changes. The format morphs from strictly phone footage to a hodgepodge of textures and frame rates."The action becomes dislocated from documentary reality, instead taking the form of abstract isolated shots of expressions and gestures being repeated endlessly and maniacally by the people in the crowd. It's like we're inside a contemporary version of some medieval painting of the Damned, writhing and carousing in ecstasy and agony as they are herded towards Hell's gaping maw."Our crowd now becomes a vehicle for exploring a cavalcade of human expressions, gestures, and simple actions, boiled down to some kind of fetishized essence by way of filming them in hyperspeed with endlessly repeating manic motion. A simple action repeated over and over again and filmed in this style becomes mesmerizing and absurd and ritualistic."
