Lucy Dawkins & Tom Readdy's video of Public Service Broadcasting's Sputnik, celebrates the launch of the first satellite into Earth's orbit and highlights the role of the Lovell Telescope role in making space exploration history.
October 4th, 1957 marked the start of the Space Age, when the Soviet Union successfully launched Sputnik I, and the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire – the largest radio telescope in the world at the time – was the only device that could track Sputnik’s carrier rocket by radar, picking up the  the Sputnik rocket on October 11th, 1957,
So on the anniversary of that event 58 years later, regular PSB collaborators Dawkins and Readdy shot this video of Public Service Broadcasting performing Sputnik in front of the iconic Lovell Telescope.
