Kristian Young has provided a strong showcase for ex-Saturdays member Vanessa White, finding a balance between a pop video aesthetic and a more natural look for the video for Don't Wanna Be Your Lover.

"Working with Vanessa and her team was an absolute pleasure. We really connected well as a group making sure we prioritised the lighting and her look. I was keen to help make Vanessa stand out as a solo artist, especially as her last project with The Saturdays involved working as part of a massively successful girl group.

"Cinematically we really pushed the natural, candid approach to the film, using super strong beams of light and letting Vanessa carve through them as she performed vocals and choreography. Working alongside Aaron (choreographer) and the New Look (styling) team really allowed us to push the beauty and editorial vignettes to create a dynamic and developing performance video.

"I was keen to stay away from a massively polished, perfect Hollywood-style glamour piece, and I think Vanessa’s natural personality shining through really helped keep things grounded and natural, rather than feeling fake and over-rehearsed as can sometimes happen in the genre."
