Bloc Party 'Virtue' by James Copeman
Cat Velez - 18th Apr 2016
James Copeman has directed some appealing offbeat sexiness in his colour-coded pop video for Bloc Party's Virtue.Â
The clip boasts pleasing colour combinations as turquoise-skinned people get up to sexually suggestive shenanigans in vibrantly-coloured spaces. To the pulsing beat of the music, a a hand inches towards a groin, fingers dip into egg yolks and a lady's tongue moves towards a rather phallic looking cactus...
JAMES COPEMAN:
"It was a pleasure to finally get to work with Bloc Party. The band wanted a video that would visualise every aspect of the music. I approached this with colour and dance. The imagery starts off with this idea but gradually I wanted to trick the viewer into falling from virtue and turn their minds onto sin therefor allowing the imagery of dehumanised bodies to become increasingly sexualised."
