Bastille 'Good Grief' by NYSU
Cat Velez - 28th June 2016
Surreal vignettes make up Bastille's cool new video for Good Grief - directed by Jesús Hernández aka NYSU - repeating until they slowly begin to relate to one other, taking shape into the semblance of a coherent narrative.
Except it doesn't make loads of sense, really. NYSU plays with the cross-wiring of visual clues, with bits of clips crossing-over and bleeding into each other, becoming increasingly more absurd and dreamlike. It's a pretty wild video blending bank robbery, rollerskating girls, a gameshow winner, a topless lady, a burning house, the guys of Bastille - and a poor teddy bear, caught in the middle of everything.
