Formation 'A Friend' by Davis Silis

Luke Bather - 8th Feb 2017

Davis Silis, take a bow. This perfectly choreographed fight sequence with a twist manages to accomplish a hell of a lot in a confined space.

An empty carriage on a Victoria Line underground, two men in the throes of a brawl that could have been lifted straight from any action/thriller. Silis knows this and uses it to play with the form of the trope, and how it contrasts with the themes of the song. Asking the question "why do we hurt the ones we love?" without providing a clear-cut answer, the video takes some unexpected twists and turns without ever leaving the carriage.

The video is made even more impressive when you know that one of the fighters (Formation's Will Riston) actually dislocated his arm very early in the shoot, and still pulled out a pretty fantastic performance.
