11 'Find A Way' by Charlie James Reader
David Knight - 19th Sept 2018
Three individuals in three separate places come under the influence of unseen forces in Charlie James Reader's video for 11.
It leads them to act in ways that suggests that the toll of everyday life is too much - a metaphorical expression of the stresses and stresses that come with modern urban living.
The video for Find A Way delivers through excellent performances from its actors, Ben Coughlan's photography and Charlie James Reader's editing as well as direction. And the twist in the tale is genuinely uplifting.
CHARLIE JAMES READER:
"This piece centres around the ideas of co-existence, shared consciousness and the anxiety that comes with city living. I started to become increasingly aware and pissed off with the constant pressures that we’re all exposed to in myriad forms of life, particularly in the city, and used this film as a way to vent a little. I wanted to create a sense of unrealised unity between the characters whilst also maintaining the idea of separation and isolation. We all have our battles and they’re all too often kept silent."
