Shaun James Grant's latest video for Maverick Sabre is a searing exploration of the day-to-day emotional and physical endurance needed to cope with domestic abuse.

This is the Director's cut of Grant's video for Her Grace, which focusses upon the performance of Thea Gajic as the young mother in an abusive relationship, and the psychological impact of being caught in the cycle of violence.

I knew I couldn’t speak for everyone in this situation. But I could write from personal experience.

"A lot of my music video work to date is narrative-based, but this was less about entertainment and more about leaving an emotionally driven, lasting impression. It was a chance to create an arresting yet sensitive film around an incredibly pertinent issue that needs continued discussion.

"As a male director writing about domestic abuse which is mostly associated with male-on-female violence, I knew I couldn’t speak for everyone in this situation. But I could write from personal experience, the things I witnessed happening to people I knew growing up."
