Stormzy 'Wiley Flow' by KC Locke
Promonews - 10th Oct 2019
Together with the video the Ed Sheeran collab Take Me Back To London, KC Locke has directed a very different visual for Stormzy's latest solo offering.
This is a stripped-back performance video - starting with Stormzy walking into a studio to a sample of the eponymous Wiley, before breaking into the fast and furious Wiley Flow, supported by his buddies.
It's a well-crafted one-take piece, which uses choreography cues and lighting triggers to deliver a high energy performance - and of course, Stormzy’s high-calibre charismatic personality and energy.
And if the intention was to bring the big man back to the raw street vibe of his early videos, following the spectacular Scholfield-directed blockbusters for Vossi Bop and Sounds Of The Skeng, then this really does the job.
