Lindemann 'Knebel' by Zoran Bihac
Rob Ulitski - 20th Nov 2019
Things take a turn for the worse in Zoran Bihac's video for Knebel by Lindemann - a side-project by Rammstein singer Till Lindemann and Peter Tägtgren of death metal band Hypocrisy. And in classic Rammstein fashion, it's controversial... to say the very least.
Opening with a soaring shot across a snow-covered landscape, a lone dilapidated building stands in a frozen snapshot. Jumping right inside, we see Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann standing in a foot of water, moving around, looking dangerously unhinged, as usual, and trying to catch snow drops on his tongue.
Before long, the snow has melted and Lindemann has broken out of his shell, moving freely in the waist high water. Escaping the confines of the wreckage, he explores the wasteland around him, before things really kick off. Black censored warnings flash up on the screen as things take a turn for the absurd. Then comes the eel, and a groteque moment that puts Till in the same category of bonkers animal-related rockstar behaviour as Ozzie Osbourne and Alice Cooper.
Even though Zoran Bihac has assured animal rights activists that this scene was faked, suffice to say this is not one for the faint of heart. But for those who really want to take it up a notch, there is an uncensored version online. But don't say we didn't warn you...
