Stand Atlantic 'Blurry' by Lewis Cater
Rob Ulitski - 2nd Sept 2020
Lewis Cater directs the second part of an abstract narrative for Stand Atlantic, in the video for Blurry.Â
Back in the same maze of rooms first introduced in the first segment, vocalist Bon is trapped once again as a darkness spreads like a disease, rotting the candy-coloured set and everything within it.Â
DoPÂ Lorenzo Levrini ramps up the drama with cold, clinical lighting and off-kilter camera angles, whilst Cater's focus on real-life issues and world events gives the concept an uncomfortably realistic undertone.Â
LEWIS CATER:
The rose-tinted glasses are removed and we uncover the sadistic, twisted world.Â
"Blurry continues the unnerving story from previous video Jurassic Park and witnesses a similar narrative... but now turned on its head.
"Where in the video for Jurassic Park, we saw the world through a sugarcoated view point, Blurry is the opposite, the rose-tinted glasses are removed and we fully uncover the sadistic, twisted world in which were previously and optimistically guided through."
