Greentea Peng 'Revolution' by Melody Maker
Rob Ulitski - 11th Nov 2020
Greentea Peng meditates on human nature, and a tumultuous year, in a perpetually-moving rollercoaster of a concept for Revolution devised by Melody Maker.
Shot in Ridley Road market in Dalston, East London, the charismatic singer-songwriter delivers an absorbing performance and optimistic call to arms. Through the use of a motion control rig - operated by DoP Thomas English - the Dalston environment changes in front of our eyes, documenting the people, places and events that have taken place in this shared universal experience.
“A result of recent turmoil: political, societal, and individual. 2020, a painfully transformative year for the collective," states Greentea Peng. "Revolution is a product of this pain and also the anger we’ve been struggling to move through, at the same time it represents the hope conjured. A reminder to remember where the first revolution must take place and also a reminder to be aware of where and what we put our energy and belief into.”
