Victor Carrey directs a haunting promo for Manel's L'amant Malalta - a dreamy journey through the empty, nocturnal streets of a curfewed Barcelona.Â
The songtitle translates as The Sick Lover, and the video draws up surrealistic images coming from the artist's lockdown, and other melancholic experiences.
It's a patchwork of abstract vignettes, and a feast for the eyes, conjuring up something exciting and unique at every turn, all loosely tied together by the suggestion of an apocalypse.Â
DoPÂ Alberto Banares builds upon the surrealist concept with otherworldly lighting and mysterious camera angles, elevating the heightened experience, and it's simply stunning work.Â
