Wes Nelson ft Yxng Bane 'Nice To Meet Ya' by Oliver Jennings

Rob Ulitski - 9th Apr 2021

Wes Nelson thrives in a surreal suburbia, in Oliver Jennings' offbeat promo for Nice To Meet Ya.

Vibrant, refreshing and aspirational, the video is anchored by smooth performances and breathtaking art direction - care of Elena Muntoni and crew.

DoP David Wright is a perfect fit for the concept, and his ability to balance a sense of reality with the more exaggerated aspects creates a unique, eclectic vision.

OLIVER JENNINGS:

It’s how I imagine a guy like Wes would live, but with an exaggerated spin on it.

"I had an image of Wes in a very boring looking suburban setting, but wanted to bring it to life with certain elements making it his own with naughty topiary, a Prada-clad postman, an indoor golf course and eventually a helicopter spot light.

"I had those surreal suburban references in mind, like Edward Scissorhands, in which the suburbs become a place of tension and weirdness. I thought it would be interesting to shoot in a setting which is so familiar but add a element of weirdness.

"It’s basically how I imagine a guy like Wes would live but with an exaggerated spin on it."
