Director Jack Brown has teamed up with Blinkink to create an animated music video for the remixed version of The Weeknd's Save You Tears’ remix, featuring Ariane Grande - a journey through the manufacturing line of The Weeknd’s own underground lair as he creates his perfect companion. Which is Ariana, of course.

The video marks a big step forward for Brown, who only kicked off his music video career last year with work for Poppy Ajudha and the delightful video for Tom Misch & Yussef Dayes' Tidal Wave. That was a boy-meets-girl story in an exotic location - and in its way, so is this one.

It begins in a sparse desert landscape before venturing deep underground to Weeknd's world cave-like factory - part-NASA, part-Willy Wonka. A head separately from a body - a running motif through the videos created for The Weeknd's hit album After Hours - appears on the conveyor of a production line. And so begins the start of the creation of the doll version of Ariana...

With The Weeknd - in his trademark scarlet lounge jacket, naturally - as the overseer to the creation, the doll becomes more and more developed. Arms, legs and a body come together, for the big reveal.
