Bobby Gillespie, Jehnny Beth 'Chase It Down' by Thomas James
Rob Ulitski - 12th May 2021
Thomas James explores the fleeting nature of relationships and emotion, in his video for Bobby Gillespie & Jehnny Beth.
Inhabiting an empty house, the artists are shown existing in their own space, together but apart, never quite reaching a comfortable medium.Â
There is tension in the air, occasionally erupting into frantic movement and anguished looks, examining the nature of a relationship that was never meant to be.Â
The abstract concept is visualised with excellent black and white cinematography by DoP Tim Sidell, and the performances are perfectly uncomfortable in their execution.
