Forest Blakk 'Fall Into Me' by James Fitzgerald
Rob Ulitski - 25th Oct 2021
James Fitzgerald directs an unlikely love story for Forest Blakk's Fall Into Me, when a shopping mall worker strikes up a relationship with an after-hours cleaner - who's half-human, half-wolf.
With charming performances from his actors - and featuring Desmond Eastwood as the werewolf-esque main protagonist - Fitzgerald channels the playfulness of '80s teen comedies in this unusual romance - set in a convincingly US-style mall in Dublin - in his third collaboration with Blakk.
DoP Burschi Wojnar balances saturated coloured lighting and camerawork with a more contemporary, glossy style, resulting in a polished, timeless aesthetic which suits the concept perfectly.
JAMES FITZGERALD:
The video borrows inspiration from '80’s teen classics like Teen Wolf and Ferris Bueller.
"Myself and Forest both discussed that we wanted push the bar with this third collaboration and make something bold, yet highly relatable to our audience.
"Because the lyrics are so emotive, we felt it was best to contrast the track with a narrative that’s lighter in tone than the previous videos, but still filled with heart and wonderful touching moments.
"Although set in 2021, the video borrows inspiration from '80’s teen classics like Teen Wolf, Career Opportunities, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off."
