Krishna Muthurangu and Kit Monteith co-direct an absorbing promo for Mykki Blanco, featuring legendary singer-songwriter Michael Stipe of REM fame. 

The video for Family Ties complements the narrative in the track, following Blanco's ex-boyfriend as he tries to help his father, who is suffering with mental health issues. 

The black and white, coastal aesthetic perfectly suits the concept, highlighting the isolating nature of trying to help someone close to you who is going through something difficult, both from Blanco and the boyfriend character's perspective. 

The intermittent performance sections have a similarly sombre mood, and explore the contrast of solitude versus freedom. Both Blanco and Stipe's performances are restrained - the former in a small area of the house, and the latter appearing on a vintage television set - and this elevates the themes of the concept.
