Asylums 'Scatterbrain' by Andy Delaney

Rob Ulitski - 17th June 2022

Andy Delaney directs a vibrantly energetic performance promo for Asylums, scattering the band all over a white-syc studio.

The video for Scatterbrain is the fifth collaboration between Delaney - one half of legendary video directing team BIG TV! - and the Southend-based band, and sees the group performing as their bodies are chopped and re-arranged by split screens and homemade VFX.

The lo-fi aesthetic and whirlwind of vivid colours disguises the lyrics' observations about society's lack of focus and reduced attention spans, and prevents us from seeing what's really going on.

Developed by Delaney and frontman Luke Branch, the concept is clever and engaging, and a perfect fit to the riotous track.
