King Krule 'If Only It Was Warmth' by Archy Marshall
Rob Ulitski - 8th June 2023
King Krule self-directs a wistful promo for If Only It Was Warmth, under his real name Archy Marshall.Â
The video sees Marshall travelling solo with a cactus, as he experiences a series of unusual, abstract visions.Â
Shot in black and white, the promo is reminscent of early black and white films, with a stripped-back yet focused aesthetic.
Featuring a drawn-out steadicam shot at the start - and a questionable demise for the cactus in question - the video starts with a hook which lingers throughout, questioning the reality of what we see on-screen from that moment on.Â
