Declan McKenna is back - and also back with regular collaborator Will Hooper to make a characteristically lighthearted and offbeat video for Sympathy, with Declan on a deserted sandy beach in the company of a piano, a metal detector, and some odd-looking seagulls. 

Reuniting the creative relationship that brought the brilliant visuals for The Key To Life On Earth and Beautiful Faces, the video features a dreamlike narrative in a breezy beachside setting. Cue puppet seagulls, googly eyed-guitars and a metal detector narrative, all merging to form a trippy, hallucinatory seaside experience.

Most crucially, it's the uplifting presence of Declan McKenna himself - as twinkly-eyed and energetic as he was when he burst onto the music scene a few years ago - but arguably with a bit more knowing maturity. He brings all of his A-game charm and charisma to this one.

Safe to say that his and Will Hooper's creative relationship has resumed in brilliant fashion. They have delivered here, and then some. It's a very enjoyable addition to a growing canon of highly entertaining videos by the pair.
