Theo Watkins join forces with masked disco-pop provocateur Lynks to direct a bold promo, where a pastel-pink wedding concept sets the stage for a playfully surreal set of events with Lynks 

The video for New Boyfriend features a faux marriage - with Lynx as the bride - that then races through an extremely short lifespan. But maybe that was the plan all along...

The colourful aesthetic suits the artist's distinctive, exaggerated style, and both Watkins and Lynks know their references when it comes to this world, as explained below. 

"With the candy-coloured opening to the 1997 romantic comedy My Best Friend's Wedding as our initial inspiration, we aimed for a twisted, old school musical-tinged tale addressing Lynks's, shall we say, impulsive post-breakup behaviour," says Watkins explains.

"Shot on the hottest day of the year, what undoubtedly looks on-camera like the height of poise and grace, actually hides buckets of sweat underneath layers of costume. So just like Gene Kelly hiding extreme fever when shooting 'Singin' in the Rain', Lynks doesn't mind suffering to bring magic to the silver screen."
