Etta Marcus 'Girls That Play' by Jesse May Fisher

Rob Ulitski - 12th Jan 2024

Jesse May Fisher reunites with longtime collaborator Etta Marcus, meditating on friendship in the promo for Girls That Play.

With a constrained colour palette and playful camera movement, the video is a bold, confident take on the track, and instantly memorable in the way that it addresses the multiple layers of emotion and meaning that exist within the framework of friendship among girls.

"The visual world for Girls That Play is inspired by the complex intimacies of female friendship, as well as cinematic iconographies of femininity," says Fisher.

"Girls That Play depicts a menacing, mysterious and ritualised version of girlhood."
