Donald Glover and Hiro Murai take us back to the 1930s and a bygone era of twinkled-toed entertainment in the brilliant return of Glover's musical alter ego Childish Gambino. 

The six-minute video for Little Foot Big Foot sees Glover and his pals as a young musical act, arriving at a down-at-heel nightspot in Depression-era rural America, to perform their sizzling song-and-dance act to the denizens - and gaining barely a flicker of a response until a dramatic turn of events changes everything. 

With a vintage noir style and slick choreography inspired by all of the greats - channelling the mid-century black entertainers such as the Williams Brothers -  and it's a dazzling comeback and the first of several visuals planned for new album Atavista, which also acts as the soundtrack for Glover's upcoming film Bando Stone & the New World.

it also brings Hiro Murai - and DoP Larkin Sieple - back to music videos to show us what we have been missing. The pair provide the visual depth and element of darkness, that counterpoints Glover's irresistible urge to entertain. And the final section, where Young Nudy is a giant surveying the landscape beneath him, is a visual jolt that's pure Murai. Masterful stuff.
