Baptiste Penetticobra directs an impassioned, offbeat promo for French-Congolese singer Tshegue. 

The video for Plus De Place Nulle Part sees the artist in a car at night, with three teenagers in the back seat. As the music starts to play, the energy begins to ramp up, until they are all possessed by the track and thrashing around dancing. 

It's a curious, brilliantly executed concept, which feels like it could delve into found footage horror at any time (which is the magic of the abyss-like location, and the lack of any context to the car's whereabouts).

"Something I used to do when I was a pre-teen was go sit in my parent's car, parked in the garage of our suburban house, and blast a song at full volume," explains Penetticobra. 

"I specifically remember doing this with 'MUSIC' by Madonna. First, because the sound system in the Citroën Xsara Picasso wasn’t too bad, and second, because the inside of the car felt like a kind of “bubble”; a physically and sonically isolated space, outside of time. It was an experience in itself.

"I have vivid memories of those moments. Not long ago, I came across a TikTok showing a father and his two kids singing Queen inside their car, filmed from afar by his wife. That’s exactly what I used to do."
